EMDRIA Certified EMDR Therapist
Courtney is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and has been working at Journeys for over a decade. She earned her Master's Degree in Clinical Psychology from Vanguard University in 2010. She also has a Bachelor's in Psychology from Vanguard, and a minor in music.
Courtney's history includes work as a mentor, experience as a psychiatric social worker (2010-2015), and work with trauma since 2015. Courtney provides authentic, relational care in her therapy office working with individuals including men, women, couples and teens and is also an EMDRIA certified EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) therapist. EMDR has become an invaluable tool used in her practice to help bring awareness to traumatic experiences and to rewire the brain to connect to more beneficial thought processes.
Courtney has experience with depression, anxiety, trauma, childhood attachment work, grief and loss, transitions, sexuality and relational issues. She loves helping clients manage the stress and challenges of life, while also validating their strength and resiliency. She has found that people are much stronger than they think they are. She desires to help others live out a life that aligns with who they are meant to be, and not held back by the traumatic experiences they've had. Her hope is to be one piece of the puzzle that moves individuals and families toward restoration and reconciliation within themselves and their relationships.
