Amaris is a Journeys Counseling Ministry Trainee currently completing her Master of Science in Clinical Psychology at Vanguard University, while pursuing dual licensure as a Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) and Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC). She provides counseling services to adolescents, adults, couples, and families under supervision as they navigate emotional, relational, and life-stage challenges.
Amaris has experience and a strong interest in working with clients experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, life transitions, and relationship distress, and is especially drawn to supporting adolescents with school stress, peer relationships, and self-esteem, as well as adults and couples navigating divorce, infidelity, family conflict, and foster or adoption transitions. Prior to entering the mental health field, she worked as a court clerk in the judicial system, where she supported individuals and families during moments of crisis and major life disruption—shaping her deep respect for confidentiality, compassion, and emotional safety.
Amaris’s goal in therapy is to provide a supportive, collaborative space where clients feel heard, valued, and empowered to better understand themselves, strengthen their relationships, and develop tools to create meaningful and lasting change. Outside of the therapy room, Amaris is happily married and enjoys life with her adorable dog, staying active at the gym, and spending time with family and friends.
