Life can be complicated, tough, and messy—but it’s also full of joy, love, and peace. The challenge is that our brains are hardwired to keep us safe, making us hyperaware and hyperreactive to danger—real or imagined. This vigilance can make it difficult to regulate our reactions and emotional states, which affects our peace, mental health, and relationships.
