Rio is an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist at Journeys South Bay. He earned his master’s in Clinical Psychology from Pepperdine University after earning his Bachelor of Arts at California State University, Long Beach.

Rio utilizes his educational as well as clinical training in combination with personal experiences and skills gained in other domains to help individuals with whatever they are seeking help for. Acknowledging that life can be difficult, whether it is hardships that have befallen us, relationship troubles, or internal struggles, he approaches each client without judgment. He is passionate about helping others to thrive through compassion and understanding and enjoys the collaborative effort of working with individuals and couples alike.
