Luan began her professional life in architectural design and development before discerning a call to the helping professions. Her own experiences of medical trauma shaped a deep commitment to trauma-informed care for the whole person and led her to earn a Master of Social Work with an emphasis in faith and mental health integration.
Luan has served as the Care & Recovery Pastor for a large multisite congregation and has helped launch a Christian mental health nonprofit as its Program Director. These leadership roles deepened her commitment to care that addresses mental health within broader relational, cultural, spiritual, and community contexts. In her clinical practice, she integrates evidence-based therapeutic approaches with clients’ spiritual values when desired, supporting the whole person in the pursuit of clarity, stability, and purpose.
Luan works with individuals, couples, and families and specializes in supporting clients navigating multicultural identities, including those holding ministry or leadership roles, individuals with disabilities, chronic illness, or neurodivergence, and clients with intersecting cultural, spiritual, and relational identities. Her approach is grounded in cultural humility, accessibility, and honor for each client’s lived experience. She considers it a sacred privilege to accompany clients as they move toward greater orientation, integration, and hope.
Luan has been married to her college sweetheart for over 20 years, and together they cherish life with their two teenage daughters.
