Chris is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, and is the director/supervisor of Journeys Counseling South Bay.  Chris earned his Master of Science in Clinical Psychology from Vanguard University, and his Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from San Diego State University. 

After completing his graduate work, Chris spent over 5 years working with high-acuity patients in a psychiatric hospital gaining experience with issues ranging from addiction, to severe depression and psychosis. Chris has been with Journeys Counseling since 2008, and enjoys working with individuals, couples, and adolescents who are seeking to have a deeper understanding of who they are, and why, as they learn how to draw closer to self and others.  Chris is also an adjunct professor in the psychology department at a Christian university and has been involved in multiple levels of ministry, currently serving as an elder and teacher at his church in Palos Verdes.

Melanie is an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist. She earned her Master of Arts degree in Clinical Psychology from Pepperdine University and has over 4 years of experience at Journeys working with clients of all ages and various issues. She has experience with clients struggling with anxiety, depression, family conflict, phobias, marital issues, health issues, etc. She also has over 16 years of experience working with teens in a youth ministry setting as well as working with the elderly in ministry. Previously, Melanie gained experience in the Television and Music industries. In her free time, she enjoys wilderness backpacking

Mallorie is a Marriage & Family Therapist trainee. She earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Integrated Marketing Communication from Pepperdine University. She decided to continue her education at Pepperdine, and is currently finishing her Master of Arts degree in Clinical Psychology.

Mallorie has experience working with teens, adults, and couples. Her humanistic approach to therapy emphasizes the person’s ability to draw from their own personal instincts to find wisdom, growth, healing, and fulfillment within themselves.

Meghan is a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor practicing in the South Bay Journeys office.  She earned her Master of Arts in Community Counseling from The George Washington University in Washington, DC and her Bachelor of Arts from the University of Florida.

Meghan has experience serving adolescents and adults in a variety of behavioral health settings including schools, crisis and trauma centers, inpatient psychiatric hospitals, and outpatient counseling centers. Areas of interest include adolescence and the family dynamic, particularly in regards to communication, identity, and emotional issues. She enjoys working with individuals, couples, adolescents, and families. Her desire is for all of her clients to find hope, healing, and strength through therapy.

Leyla provides therapy for a wide range of emotional and behavioral issues and works with men, women, adolescents, the elderly, families and parents.  Leyla has experience working with parents of adolescence to help them implement parenting skills that complement developmental stages.  She is a Certified Prepare/Enrich Facilitator and works with couples in all stages of relationship.  Leyla provides a highly personalized approach in a warm and comfortable atmosphere so each client may acquire the personal growth s/he is striving for.

Leyla and her husband of 27 years have a 20 year-old daughter in college.
